MELEKA is set to be the UK’s brightest and hottest new star with her debut single ‘Go’ currently causing a storm on radio waves and dancefloors across the UK and Europe. Produced by undoubtedly the most popular funky house collective, Crazy Cousinz, ‘Go’ has quickly become a 2009 anthem.

Hailing from north-west London, the 21 year old singer/ songwriter first gained recognition for her raw talent in 2008 when she was crowned the winner of prestigious music competition ‘HUGO URBAN RULES’. She wowed music industry execs as well as chart toppers Estelle and Sabrina Washington with her soaring vocals and fearless nature, this made her the firm favourite for the grand prize which included the chance to support Estelle at the headline gig in Manchester as well as appearing in the subsequent MTV Base show which was broadcast over 100 times on the channel.

Meleka has a number of other achievements under her belt, her powerful vocals feature alongside US R&B superstar Kelis and UK sensation Chipmunk on ‘Scars’, the title track from the new Basement Jaxx album. She also features on Don E’s new single ‘Time Is Now’ alongside Mutya Buena and has been tipped as ‘one to watch’ by The News Of The World.

To date, ‘Go’ has achieved A List support from BBC 1xtra and has received rotation on the Galaxy Network, BBC Radio1 Kiss FM, Choice FM and Vertex FM – and all this without even being serviced to radio! The track has also been picked as ‘Urban Record Of The Month’ by Mixmag music magazine.

The ‘Go’ music video is visually engaging with a seriously powerful storyline and will be hitting screens everywhere soon. The director, Ben Jones is a talented creative whose previous work includes videos for; The Streets, Lily Allen and Oasis.

A selection of catchy remixes will feature on the packed October release from Diamond ft Tinie Tempah, Sid Mercutio and Doug McCourt, there is also a 'refix' from slick producer, Booda Bassline.

Meleka's fresh, irresistible vocals paired with the infectious toe-tapping beats of Crazy Cousinz are set to make ‘Go’ a chart smash.
